Hostel life has been described as some as the best part of their lives. Yes, that is very true. It is the most carefree and fun times in almost everyone’s life. You are surrounded by friends and break the rules together. Don’t have a care in the world, except about studies, friends and sometimes money. However, for some sadly hostel life turns out to be a nightmare and offers an urban stay experience. In my opinion though, I believe most situations are under our control. And we can actual man handle how we want things to turn out. The important thing is we should believe in ourselves first and be open to diversity.
Make as many friends as possible. Don’t shy away when it’s your chance to talk. Try to get to know the people in your dorm first. Talk to the people in your dorm. They may not be too welcoming at first but with time they will warm up. Share some homemade sweets or store bought ones that you have. You may see people warming up to you faster. As the old Indian saying goes, “the path to a person’s heart is through their stomach!”Go here https://www.setupdixon.co.nz/backpackers/ for more information about cheap backpackers.
Be socially active
Hostels usually host many social parties and events. Make sure you attend all or at least most of them as much as possible. Make sure to be dressed for the event. You don’t want to be labeled the weirdo. Social events are the best platforms to meet new people from other dorms. You may kick off better with some of them than you already do with your present dorm mates. In such an instance you may discreetly request for a transfer.
Avoid the desperados
Whether a college, school or hostels you will find the desperados who insist on being left alone. You will want to avoid such persons because who knows what they are capable of. But of course, you be nice to them offer your greetings and any food items you share with the rest in their presence. You don’t have to though be hovering over such persons, pressing your presence on them.
It is most likely that you have moved cities or even countries to be in this hostel. So you don’t want to get into any kind of trouble while here. It is very unfair that you get your parents or guardian dragged along to the hostel because you acted on temptation and foolishness. So make wise moves. It is okay to break a few of the minor rules but do keep in mind that the rules are in place to avoid any unfortunate mishaps. Behave yourself and don’t put yourself or your friends in trouble. Most often than not impulse decisions go very wrong!
